Sewer Line Repair and Replacement
Broken sewer lines can wreak havoc on your home.
Whether it's a cracked pipe, a root invasion, or a full collapse, Yellowstone Plumbing & Drains has the tools—and the experience—to fix it fast. We offer both trenchless and traditional solutions to keep your yard intact and your plumbing flowing.
From minor cracks to major collapses, here are the methods we use—customized to the location and severity of the issue.
1. Spot Repair (Traditional Digging)
Best for: Isolated damage in a small section of the line
We dig a precise trench to expose and replace only the damaged portion of the pipe.
Direct, reliable, and cost-effective
Ideal when access is easy or damage is minimal
2. Full Sewer Line Replacement
Best for: Severely aged, corroded, or collapsed sewer systems
We excavate the entire run and install brand-new piping that meets current code.
Long-term fix for failing systems
Essential for homes with frequent backups or total pipe failure
3. Trenchless Pipe Lining (CIPP – Cured-in-Place Pipe)
Best for: Pipes with minor cracks or internal corrosion
We insert a resin-saturated liner into the existing pipe and cure it in place—forming a new pipe within the old one.
No major digging required
Durable and long-lasting (25+ years)
Not suitable if the pipe is collapsed or offset
4. Point Liner Repair (Trenchless Spot Fix)
Best for: Small, localized damage
A no-dig solution that restores a short section of pipe—without replacing the whole thing.
How it works:
Pipe Cleaning: High-pressure jetting or mechanical tools clear out roots and debris
Liner Placement: A short, flexible liner is positioned over the damaged section
Curing: The liner is inflated and cured using air, water, or UV light
Final Inspection: The bladder is removed and the new pipe segment is inspected for proper flow
5. Pipe Bursting (Trenchless Replacement)
Best for: Fully collapsed or severely damaged sewer lines
We pull a bursting head through the old pipe, breaking it apart while simultaneously pulling a new pipe into place.
No need for a full trench
Great for long sections in tough locations
Fast and highly durable
6. Root Removal & Preventive Maintenance
Best for: Pipes with root intrusion but no major structural damage
Tree roots are a common cause of recurring clogs. We use mechanical cutters or hydro jetting to remove them.
Non-invasive, quick solution
Best when followed by pipe lining to prevent regrowth
Roots will return without long-term repair
How We Fix Broken Sewer Lines
Think You Might Have a Sewer Problem?
Here are some common warning signs:
Gurgling toilets or slow drains throughout the home
Frequent backups in the lowest drain (often a shower or basement)
Soggy spots or foul odors in the yard
Visible tree root intrusion or crumbling pipes during past repairs
If you’re unsure, we can run a sewer camera inspection to see what’s going on—before you commit to any repair.
Sewer Repair and Replacement FAQs
-
A camera inspection can confirm whether the damage is isolated or system-wide. We’ll walk you through your options based on the findings.
-
Not necessarily. We specialize in trenchless solutions that minimize digging. But for some cases—like collapsed or misaligned pipes—excavation may still be necessary.
-
Trenchless spot repairs or pipe lining can often be done in a day. Full replacements may take 1–2 days depending on access and conditions.
